There is something very satisfying about watching a 3D printer work. The first layer is painstakingly slow; without a solid foundation, the print is unlikely to be successful. Yet as the printhead steadily glides over the buildplate and draws paper-thin layer upon layer, it becomes clear that it is only a matter of time before the final product is realized.

My first encounter with a 3D printer came in October of 2014 when I was tasked with creating the outbound sales department at a technology vendor called Dynamism. As an avid technophile, this was right up my alley. Since then, I’ve 3D printed hundreds of objects. Some of my favorites are featured below.
